Vacation Bible School

This years Vacation Bible School is LIfeway's Outrigger's Island, Living God's Unshakeable Truth. 

Obviously, the theme this year is based on an Island theme.  And, as usual, we have had fun planning and preparing the set and decoration for the kids.  The theme Scripture for the VBS is Psalm 86:10, "For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God." (NIV) 

Each day has a theme and a Bible Story.  Along with the Bible story are crafts, snacks, recreation, mission studies, music and more.  We will be serving snacks each morning, so if your child has a food allergy be sure to let us know during registration, and a friendly reminder when you drop them off would also be helpful.  Check out the daily themes below:

Monday:  Wave 1 - Truth: God is Real - God Spoke to Moses Exodus 3; 13:17-14:31
Life Truth:  I know God is real.  I can believe there is no other God.

Tuesday:  Wave 2 - Truth:  Jesus is God's Son - Luke 2:1-20,25-35, 41-52
Life Truth:  I know Jesus is God's Son.  I can celebrate who He is.

Wednesday:  Wave 3 - Jesus Is the Only Way - Jesus' Death, Burial, and Resurrection Mark 15:21-16-7
Life Truth:  I know that Jesus is the only way.  I can confess Him as my Savior.

Thursday: Wave 4 - The Bible Is God's Word - Jeremiah and Baruch Jeremiah 36
Life Truth:  I know the Bible is God's Word.  I can explore its truth.

Friday: Wave 5 - My Actions Show What I Believe - The Good Samaritan Luke 10:25-37
Life Truth:  I kow my actions show what I believe.  I can stand for truth. 

Each day will be packed with fun and learning.  Our caring volunteers love children.  And, they will each have completed a criminal history background check and sexual offender national records check.  We also require our volunteers who work directly with and teaching the children to be an active part of our church... So, we know them well enough to recommend them.  We care about children and strive to provide them with the best environment and teaching as possible.

We will also give out random prizes each day, with Friday ending with a prize given to each of the first 125 learners.  It's our way of saying thank you, and teaching that God rewards those who love Him and pursue a life fulfilled by Jesus.  (I Cor 9:24)
